HOW TO INCREASE OR DECREASE THE RATES OF CHEMICAL REACTIONS

The rate of chemical reaction is the amount of reaction occurring per unit time i.e. the amount of reactants converting per unit time or the amount of products being formed per unit time.

Rates of chemical reaction can be affected by the following;
  1. increasing the temperature of the system
  2. increasing the concentration of the reactants
  3. adding a catalyst
  4. increasing the sf the reactants
  5. increasing the pressure if it's a gaseous reaction
  6. introduction of light if it's a photolytic reaction
