Why do dunken men sing?

Yes, it certainly isn't the most philosophical question, but drunken men do sing and based on frequency of the correlation between drunkenness and singing, one can't help but wonder if alcohol triggers a mechanism in the brain that causes drunken men to sing.

So we had our 'Kuti burger night' at kuti hall University of Ibadan and Palm wine(a nice local alcohol brewed from Palm-trees) was available. Predictably, with some Palm wine in the belly, music flowed and the Kuti boys sang and ate to their fill.

With the amount of energy on display tonight i just will not believe the Palm wine had nothing do with it. Back to our philosophical wanderings ; Why do Drunken men sing? And here, a probably more useful question for our minds only; Why are the laws of physics true in all frames of reference?

How to improve productivity during examination periods

Exam periods most times can be unnerving and stressful depending on the type individual taking the exams. Certain people barely scale through this period, whereas others find it comforting time when they get to evaluate themselves on whatever they've learnt all session long. Chances are that students who maintain a cooler disposition to the whole exam thingy are likely to perform better than their peers. Here I'll divulge the secrets of high flying students who stay cool through out exam periods.

1. Have much less work to do! : The very first step to having a very stress-free exam period is hard work. Lots of months of studying over the course of the session would ensure that when exams come, you would not be worrying. Try to get an everyday timetable and stick with it.
2. Have a change of mindset: Do you always believe that exams periods are tough times? Do you always dread the announcement of the exams schedule? You really need to stop fast. Get a positive mindset. You’ve had exams in the past, but you’re still living. Other exams would not kill you. And having a positive mindset is one of the easiest things you can do to quickly boost your confidence at exams.
3. Break a leg! : Well not literarily. Lol. Go early to your exam center. Pray, do whatever else you do before exams. Be super-uber-confident, you’re not going to write your ‘Will’. Just remember, ALL IS WELL!

Factors of Production as it applies to internet businesses

Whether in real life or in on-line space, production is the basis of monietization. Production of goods, services or value is what people through-out history have used to exchange with money or whatever store of value is available at that point in time. I will look at the age-long four classic factors of production and how they apply to internet businesses in this rapidly evolving world. The four factors of production are Land, Labour, Capital and entrepreneurship.

In online space, land probably refers to the Internet as a whole. And just like in real life where land includes everything that comes with it(water, natural minerals etc) so is it in Online space where the internet comes with it's resources(information-lots and lots of it, Social media etc). Land is the most important factor of all as without it all other factors cannot survive.

Ukraine; To interfere or not to.

America's foreign policy is quite intriguing! Months ago, the US was bent on invading Syria at all cost, today she's playing the role of the unbiased umpire, the defender of life and the rights of people to sovereignty in the Ukrainian crisis.

War drums on the streets of twitter, exacerbated by some hormones fueled news TV channels, a pop culture's love for confrontation with Russia-it's all good for business no? Syria's lesson quickly forgotten. America's stance still isn't clear, does America support foreign intervention in the affairs of sovereign state? Or does Washington reserve the right to decide which country exactly should be messed with and which should not be?

Scary prospect especially when you consider that Washington which makes these decisions that affect millions around the globe spends half of the time fighting it's own congress, a quarter of the time under a threat of a government shutdown and the last quarter trying to balance its budget. Intriguing!

Arsene Wenger hurts the Premier League

The gulf in class among football sides competing in the champions league have continue to increase. Exhibited last-week was a display of the increasing strength of the top teams, English teams as expected fell below the parking order as German and Spanish teams breezed into victories. This uninspiring spectacle isn't a one-off situation, over the last four to five years, it has become increasingly clear that English teams are getting weaker. Arsene Wenger is a man who has contributed a little more than enough to this gradual weakening.

Wenger's reluctance to strengthen his squad over the years have contributed in reducing the quality of opposition to Manchester United's title bids in the last few years. Even when Manchester united became weaker in the latter days of Alex Ferguson's reign, they still won the Premier League at every point. Arsene Wenger's side were reduced to mere top four contenders turning every other contender to not have a need to strengthen their squad.

Meanwhile Spanish teams and the Germans have continue to strengthen and grow their teams. The gulf in class in Europe's top level will remain until Arsene Wenger who is the oldest serving manager in the Premier League realizes that they are competing with other teams in Europe and not necessarily local rivals and so they have to strengthen their squad in comparison with the 'big teams'. Arsene Wenger it seems has only shown interest in competing with their local rival Tottheham.

#SongOfTheDay 2face Idibia ''U NO HOLY PASS''

''U NO HOLY PASS'' is from Face 2 Face a 2004 album by 2face Idibia. It became a major hit (sold up to 2 million copies), initially in Nigeria, but quickly spreading through western and southern Africa, and eventually making an impact in Europe as well. Its success owed much to lead radio track "African Queen", a guitar ballad with elements of West African folk music and hip-hop.

Download this classic and bob your head to this beautiful song.

Before you know, you go dey for six feet under the ground

Some rise up again just to stand up tall

Hmm, some people when they see a wrong thing
They will start complaining
Until the complaining turn into shouting

Until the shouting turn into traditional shouting
Make them try to correct a thing
They will start to thinking
Until the thinking make the pressure to start to set in
Make them feel like outcasting
The society them live in
Because they lose them sense of belonging
But they would try to push am more

And them start to do almost anything for almost nothing
Cos them same people they need some fighting
But the scavengers would bring them all
